Isle of Auskerry clip their sheep only when their fleeces have ‘risen’, In other words, ONLY when new wool is starting to grow. They then hand clip to ensure that this layer of new wool is left behind to keep the ewe nice and warm. Believe it or not, their wool fibre is even finer than merino which makes for a yarn that is a delight to knit and crochet and even more lovely (and warm!) to wear.
North Ronaldsay is a rare breed of sheep and Auskerry’s flock is the second largest in the UK. By supporting their flock you are helping keep them alive.
For UK delivery we use Royal Mail’s 2nd Class Letter & Parcel service. Items are normally dispatched within 1-3 working days, provided the goods are in stock. Delivery times can vary, but are typically 2-3 days for UK mainland.
To give you the best results we always check the dye lot numbers match within each order. If for any reason it is not possible to complete your order using only one dye lot we will contact you as soon as possible.
